*No Crib for a Bed may be performed at the front of a traditional church with a simple set or in a larger theater space.
* A spotlight would be helpful for Kendra's solo and the dream scene, but isn't necessary. *The musical score is provided as lead sheets and piano/vocal accompaniment for live performance; a fully-orchestrated performance recording may also be purchased and downloaded. *The last scene is a nativity but with a Pack 'N Play crib in place of a manger. The traditional Christmas story, Luke Chapter 2, may be recited by children or read by a narrator during that scene. An instrumental track is provided for underscore. *Information regarding safe infant sleep should be made available at the performance (CribsforKids.org, CharliesKids.org), and churches and performance groups are strongly encouraged to have a pastor or counselor prepared to speak with audience members following the event. Information for discussing the difficult topic of loss with children is included with the script and should be used when the musical is first introduced. |
