Musicals for Change was founded by Diane Beckstead, a music educator and composer, in 2008 for the purpose of producing musicals which inspire change through the voices of children. Many schools and churches perform musicals each year. While families are generally entertained by these performances, Beckstead saw an opportunity to inspire communities and raise support for worthy causes. Since then, she has written musicals which benefit organizations such as Cribs for Kids, Operation Christmas Child, and Heifer Project International.
