• Elijah: young adolescent, unhappy with his December 25th birthday
• Abby: slightly older adolescent, a foster care child on her way to a new home
• Travelers (three with short lines)
• Carolers
• Elijah's family

• Joy to the World/Traveler's Lament: One soloist, Carolers, Travelers
• It's My Birthday!: Elijah and Travelers

Costumes:

• ​Elijah, Abby, and Travelers: street clothes appropriate to the season
• Carolers: Hats, matching scarves, Christmas sweaters in red and green

Scenery:
​The entire show is set in a bus station.  The only requirement is one long bench. Optional items are chairs, a ticket booth, vending machine, and signs with the name of the bus company (we chose Dachshund!) or the town.
