Share Christ's Love at Christmas
Each year over 3,500 infants die tragic, unnecessary deaths due to suffocation, often the result of unsafe sleep environments. To combat these dire statistics, the Cribs for Kids Safe Sleep Initiative was begun in 1998 to educate parents about safe sleep practices and provide cribs to those who otherwise couldn’t afford them. Charlie's Kids, another safe sleep initiative, was founded by Sam and Maura Hanke following the sudden death of their infant son Charlie in 2010. Many organizations, including Musicals for Change, have joined this effort to support healthy, happy families through education, resources, and cribs.

How you can help:
In conjunction with the musical, No Crib for a Bed:
- Raise money for Charlie's Kids or Cribs for Kids Safe Sleep Initiative
- Work with a local organization that supports families with young children to find what is needed in your community
- Fill a crib with diapers, formula, and other baby items for local food banks and charities
- Ask your local hospital obstetrics or pediatrics units how you can help new parents
- Have a 'baby shower' for expectant mothers and provide items (cribs, Pack 'N Plays, wearable sleep sacks, pacifiers, etc.) that promote safe sleep
- Share or sell copies of the board book Sleep Baby Safe and Snug by Dr. John Hutton and distributed by Charlie's Kids at your performance
- Have a family pajama party! Come in your PJ's, read the Christmas story and other bedtime stories, sing lullabies, have Christmas cookies and milk, all while providing safe sleep information
